123net died long time ago. Your best bet is to gather the community and work it out from there. Your best bets are frogfoot, vumatel, fibrehoods and openserve. You'll have to gather tons of interest in the community for them to turn their heads, basically you have to do all the advertising.

Seems like you know quite a lot of what is going on, I have DFA running right outside the boudary of my estate. Is there any ISP which i can contact to start showing interest for my community?

A portion of SADV was purchased by DFA, if you can gather interest drop us a mail on connect at cisp.co.za and we can try get them involved.

If you drive up Fredenharry Rd, you'll see Openserve and Huawei have pulled fibre all the way up to where Witwatersrand and Montrose meet. They were only supposed to start installing early next year, but seems they're running ahead of schedule.

You can pre-order from various ISPs. I went with Web Africa.

They did the first part very very quickly. I am not sure how they operate exactly, but Huawei probably worked around 2-3 weeks, including weekends, and haven't been on-site since then. The past couple of weeks (including weekends) Open Serve has been busy, looks like testing the fibre.

I wish I knew what the roll-out process is so that I could get an estimate of how much longer they'll take.
 
Yesterday Openserve was busy at the corner of Cascades and Forest. Seems they're all over the place.
 
I enquired yesterday and I'm still awaiting a response. Will let you know if I hear anything. I haven't seen them do any work this year as of yet.
 
Pre-ordered my fibre 6 weeks ago with webafrica and have had no feedback from them or Openserve. Have seen a couple of Huawei bakkies outside my complex a few times by the nearest manhole for a few minutes and then the leave again.
 
I have also pre-ordered with Webafrica, I received a mail about 3 months ago saying that they confirm that they received my order and that they will be processing it, with my order number. Last communication I received from them.
 
I just had a chat on their live chat system, I received the following response "This is currently with out Operations team. They have the nessaccary tools to investigate the query. I can get one of the Operations agents to give you a callback, alternatively you can contact them on 086 000 9500 and click the option for Operations or Back office.Thank you for your patience"
 
I phoned Web Africa yesterday and spoke to the guy that signed me up. He said that Openserve has been getting annoyed with the huge amount of queries they keep getting, so they don't respond to anyone anymore. WA is just notified out of the blue when the fibre has been installed, so up to that point, they have no idea on the progress themselves.

I have asked Openserve yesterday via email whether they can provide us with monthly updates, which I will then distribute here and ask that it also be put in the LIFCO monthly newsletter. I have yet to receive a response.
 
I have received feedback from Openserve, and I am meeting with representatives of both Openserve and Huawei next week Tuesday.
