People like to moan about the rugby team and the springbok symbol, but it's our friggen national animal.

I happen to be "white", and this is my country as much as it is the country of someone with a different (or the same) skin colour.
I have as much right to be here as anybody who is "black".
The bottom line is that nobody is going to chase me off.

That is true, but I also think it is a bigger fight than we make it out to be. This will start the next wave of things that make you feel insecure about something.

The EFF already jumped on with Die stem, what is next that anybody that was born before 1994 should wear a cross to indicate you were born in apartheid era thus you benefited.
Will a museum be next.

My question is when will we all be happy (or remotely) and actually work together (BOTH SIDES), will we be able to get a happy medium somewhere?

I'm still perplexed as to the reasons why the banning drew such huge attention and effort. I understand that the motivation was to sow further division and irk most members of the Afrikaner population, but to what end?

Said Afrikaner will now go and take down their old flag from the walls of their comfortable suburban home, whilst there are still a large number of South Africans who are getting their freedoms and liberties trampled upon by the very ANC-led government who promised to uplift them, sleeping in the cold and dark, hungry, desperate and unemployed.

Is this "victory" worth the price? And who benefited here? The lawyers?
 
Just change the flag. Remove the union jack, I'm pretty sure no-one will miss the union jack (hell, there might not even be a union jack in 5 years) - claim it's a new flag, sell new flag and make $$$

Easy problem to solve really.

All someone needs to do is put a sticker of the flag on your car, take a picture, coin a sexy hashtag for the social media mob and you will be thrown in gulag 13 for a hate crime.
 
Look at the mandela foundation's people.... plenty of youngsters. Where did they suffer under "the old flag" ?
If they incured any suffering it's because of their vote for the anc.

I don't have the old flag posted in my house, just the german flag. Point is: stating that my private home is not private - fck that.
 
Shiit so many people have flags and such up in their homes and here I am without as much as a painting or portrait in mine...

My opinion; never.

And for the simple fact that two of the three biggest political parties in the country are hellbent on sowing racial division and making it ''us and them''.
