Not that doubt the ANC is up made up of scummy people, I just find it odd that it is the fist time we hear about it, is from a dead person? Is there a memo or another witness to this? hasn't afriforum asked Ramaphosa to address this?

Don't ask me. It's not something new though. There's always been suspicions that the ANC wasn't honest. People are coming forth now claiming they made compromises that were forceful rather than implement real beliefs of equality. Mandela and a lot of higher ups were communists at the core and only in later years came to some different views. Not a big stretch that there were a lot of communists when they came to the table. A leopard doesn't just change its spots.

Honestly I have no feelings about it. My feelings are more related to the new one. I'm not old enough to have gotten an advantage yet am not seen as a part of the country. The ANC under the new one pissed on the dream that both some white and black people fought for under the old one. So how am I supposed to feel about any of it?

Young enough that I was only half way into primary school when apartheid officially ended. Some of that time spent in hospital maxing out the medical aid. Still remember when coloreds started coming into the school in std 2. Not a lot but they were allowed to and to curb the "gevaar" the school became a model c. The circular outlining this was written in very clear code.

So actually I should be seen as disadvantaged. Everything was paid for during hard times. Didn't get the silver spoon from government back then as is commonly believed. After elections still had to keep paying under the new government.

Flag means fekall to me, I'm in my mid 30s and a "millennial", so not old enough to have properly experienced much of apartheid. I've lived 2/3s of my life and all of my adult under the current flag.

Hating an object is kind of stupid. Hating the people behind it has more merit.

The flag, just like statutes, are there to remind us of the past, be it good or bad, and importantly to learn from that past.

Banning it shows a certain level of immaturity and lack of emotional intelligence.

Actually not rare. Many people have a degree of colour blindness. Much is not total, but trather a case of discerning colours differently. You will probably fail the Ishihara tests. If it ever affects you in a job application etc - remember that term. Been there, dunnit. Nearly lost a bursary when I was young. Luckily I insisted I could see and differentiate colours. A few tests later all was sorted - I was not going to inadvertantly blow up the world by going into engineering
