Live e-tag testing to start this week in Gauteng

There are going to be lots of BEEPS of a different nature in my car! ;)

Eh?

Got an etag, never registered. Paperwork scared me off.

Wonder if I can cause grief to somebody by hiding it somewhere on his car?

Yay for SANRAL...

wonder how long it will be before ppl throw these out their windows purely because of the incessant and irritating beeping...

Let's play a game. Can anyone spot the e-tag user in this photo?

Let's try again:

Great stuff. One more to go. Can you spot the e-tag arsehole?

I sure can. Thanks for playing folks...

Well so far all the tests have failed on my side.
I suspect the cause to be that I don't have an etag....

Good for the kids, hopefully those beeps coincide with your curse words as you lambaste yourself for being a poephol.

Thanks.
Just pissed myself.

"If more than one beep, or no beep at all was heard when passing beneath a gantry, motorists should contact the e-toll call centre on 0800-726-725, or visit an e-toll customer service outlet."

The pure nerve of this. Wow, I'm actually pissing myself with laughter.
No amount of twisted imagination can make this stuff up, you need the ANC for this.

me wonder if there is a way to cause land line to auto dial their call center -

So can you phone them if you don't hear any beeps cause you've used the batteries in your XBOX controller.....

Not only do you get charged for using the road but if the charging mechanism fails you have to have it repaired at your cost and inconvenience.

You could use a dialup modem (or laptop internal modem), set it up to go through the menu's and hang up 5 seconds after the "Beep".......and repeat.

Wander into some government building and "borrow" a line for a while.....

And this on the busiest road on the continent. Imagine all the time and money wasted if we all just played along?
It's one thing to read about corruption in the news papers but now it's being personified into a little beeping Tamagotchi that drives along with you.
Wow, just, wow.

Remember folks, if it fails to beep, put it in the microwave on high for 2 minutes, to enable the "beep" mechanism.

:p

:p

And if it does beep, 4 minutes on high to "set" the active mode permanently on...
