Live e-tag testing to start this week in Gauteng

Whos driving with a shotgun ? Just think how many sensors you can take out at once ...
Pew Pew Pew

Sounds to me like a ton of fun. The little e-tag beeping would make it feel like some sort of modern mobile skeet shooting sport.

/Sees the E-Troll has arrived ...interesting.

I already have an e-tag. or is it an Anus? I always get confused between the two.

Exactly. I'm guessing it'll probably generate some kind of key based on an algorithm that includes maybe the time, gantry ID, frequency etc. to allow them to link back to the transaction that gets generated. All in all I'm sure the whole thing will be quite bulletproof (remember, the ANC had nothing to do with the design of the system :D)

I'm also guessing those tags are active RFID's?
Passive will be too weak and would need a massive coil on those Gantries to generate enough electromagnetic energy to get a powerful enough response given the distance, speed and fact that they're enclosed in a vehicle.

Anyone who has a tag should post some pics, would like to see what they look like.

EDIT: Is this the one?

Class action suit for cancer-causing radiation?

Why not? Sanral thought they could make our life hell, lets make theirs hell, we should class action sue them for every little thing we can find, i just wish there were some lawyers out there, that would take them on our behalf...

I think we need to point some copper/scrap metal thieves in the direction of the gantries. And try find a market for second-hand fibre optic cable ;)

you will be shock to hear that majority of the forum members have e-tag already.

Not allowed to post names of registered users. But you will be shocked.

Also go to motoring section , there is a thread about e-tag beep.

That is the biggest heap of schit this side of Venda. Are you saying that you hacked the mybroadband database and reconciled it with your private SANRAL registered users list? You lying piece of yesterday's snot...
