Hi everyone,

Looking for recommendations for a live sport streaming service, that works in SA and abroad. What are you using? What are you paying? What channels do you get?

Need rugby, golf, tennis, premier league and MotoGP. Cricket and F1 would be a bonus.

Prefer Android based but can run on an iPad and cast to TV if necessary. Have tried Comstar.tv but appears it's not supported yet on Ematic AGT419 4k Android player. Still have to test further with SmartIPTV app.

Am using Express VPN service successfully for a long time.

Cheers

Personally been using streamiptv dot co dot za for ages now with the Smarters app.

No issues and all the sport you mention.

Greg, thanks - service working pretty well and happy so far. Was online within 45 minutes from first enquiry yesterday. Looks like a lot of channels on the bouquet but many don't seem to work/play, so probably not as many channels as 'advertised' in the playlist.

I watched the F1 live today on Sky 'HD' - picture quality was definitely not HD, clearly a slightly pixelated stream but at 15% of the price of DSTV Premium, can't complain. Quite a few ad breaks with the live feed staying in a small PiP block on one side of the screen, which is obviously what funds the service as the advertisers get international coverage; some glitches and reloads a couple of times during the race but overall a good way to get the sport for a fraction of the price of satellite.

Now I need to find out the best way to browse and search the channels and TV guide eg to see if some of my kids shows will be available like MKR Aus and Masterchef.

Cheers

Streamiptv still going strong?

I've been using StreamIPTV, almost at the end of month one. Generally quite pleased although there is a lot of buffering. The buffering is brief, 1-3 secs but enough to be irritating. I'm on 100/100 RSAWEB fiber which gets 87-95mbs consistently, so it is not a connection or bandwidth problem. Netflix is UHD is perfect. Have used ExtremeIPTV app so FAR, on their recommendation but will try the Smarters app. Also, ExtremeIPTV TV guide (EPG) is really dodgy, inaccurate timing and program listings and hit & miss recording functionality

HI There,
I have used the StreamIPTV for 2 years now, but only to watch F1.
They have disappointed me weekend after weekend. Has anybody used another IPTV service and what was it like?

I am using IPTV Smarters. Occasionally i seem to loose all my saved favourites. Do you know how to recover them or where they are stored on the tv box?

Honestly no idea at all. I imagine your preferences would be in stored locally in the app's cache on your teevee box 'tho.

To be honest, every streaming IPTV app I have tried so far is absolute rubbish. If they work, and they have a rudimentary search function then I'm happy but there's no development in them at all - obviously due to need and lack of market dynamics/funding. It's a case of choosing the best of the worst hokey home-built apps that are out there. No logic, no grouping, no long-term favorite management, that's transferable between devices at upgrade time so short answer, no.... For any app developers out there looking to make a bit of cash on the side, I for one would buy or subscribe to a decent IPTV streaming app that supports multiple EPG's AND customizable play lists and has online/cloud account functionality that stores favorites, playlists, EPG's and groups online that pushes to multiple devices. You'd have a winner, in SA alone with the spiraling demise of MonoChoice......
