Live tiles vs widgets

BarOn is just a troll like Lament. Seriously saying Android sucks and it constantly crashes but then still taking it into consideration for an upgrade comparing three android phones and a blackberry? http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/623485-Upgrade-time-S5vsZ2vsG3vsZ30/page3 hahaha! What fallacy is this? I'm out.

When did i say Android sucks?
I said my personal opinion is IOS is better, but i have never said i will never consider an Android phone, or WP, BB OS10 or any other phone/os for that matter.

I never once brought your intelligence into this.

You think Android phones are simply the best. The onus rests with you to prove it, not me to disprove it. I'm not in any "camp" of followers and I'm not trying to promote any brand here. I am using an Android phone myself and enjoy some of its features, but slapping a sticker on it that says "THE BEST" is a bit far fetched.
and this is all i was trying to say the entire thread.

Sorry Fanie, but you ask constantly ask of Bar0n to discuss/debate everything, yet you failed at debating the point quite badly!

Bar0n made some very good and valid points. You keep on going on about Android is the best, yet you have not once objectively stated what Android is the best. Everything has been your subjective point-of-view. This has however been the case since I saw your first post on MyBB. You almost worship Android for reasons I cannot really grasp.

I have used an Android device before and from my personal experience, Windows Phone is the best [yes, for me]. In that, I do not say that Windows Phone is the best OS on the market - but, your statement also don't suddenly become true in that Android is the best. Android is most certainly not the best on the market. As Bar0n said, that is a bit far fetched.

So please, just supply the hard facts - and not your subjective opinion on why it is the best.

And lastly, Bar0N showed you and backstreetboy up for not really being able to properly debate. Play the ball, not the man!

Yeh you right, widgets can feel so disjointed. I mean, just take a look at my screen and it will show you exactly that...

...

O wait, maybe not. 3 different widgets, from 3 different apps.

Maybe its time to admit to yourself you didn't know what you were doing?

Lol @ fanie.dry,

Are you having a bit of a rough day mate?

As I stated, choosing an OS is based on personal preference, trying to force your views on why YOU think something is better is a pointless argument, it's the same as having a religious debate (it'll go on after we all die).

The point of this thread was to discuss the differences between Android Widgets and Windows Live Tiles, I gave MY personal opinion from having using both the above mentioned operating systems.

Perhaps I don't know what I'm doing working as a developer in the Enterprise Mobile industry, having used BlackBerry 5/6/7/10, iOS 3/4/5/6/7, Android (CupCake to KitKat), Windows Phone 7/7.5/8/8.1, Windows Compact Embedded 5/6 and Windows Mobile 5/6/6.5.

I'm happy that you have your own opinion and views, you're entitled to them, just as everyone else is entitled to theirs.

Regards,
sYk0.

Dude, getting this back on track

You said that he didn't like widgets because they 'feel disjointed' to him.

I called bullschit and posted a screenshot of my current homescreen, proving that things aren't disjointed at all.

Can you see from my screenshots that you were wrong about being disjointed? I said if you put in a little effort you can give them the same look and feel.

Help me out quick, please show me where I "kept going on about android being the best". Initially I wasn't even talking about android. I was talking about widgets and addressing sYk0's comment about it feeling disjointed.

Gladly. Keep in mind that these were all from this single thread.

I like Android, it just happens to be the best.

So from all of the above I heard "yes android is fantastic, better than my choice, but it's my choice, and I'm not choosing Android because I have my reasons" which is fair. utterly and completely fair. all i'm saying is, your phone is not the best in the world, it's the best for you, and for your needs. me with android can do what you can do, and more, because my android OS is better. but its not what you need, because your needs are different, and that's fine.

I'm saying its the best.

and that is my argument. not everyone wants 'the best' because it doesn't suite their needs, or it over complicates their requirements, doesn't make it any less the best, does it? that is way android fan boys, like me, say its the best.

Actually. let's do a proper objective comparison. I'll start a thread. And for a start we must choose the categories of comparison, Bar0n and Lament, would you like to partake?

No, thank you. I've made my point in this thread. I'm not going to repeat everything I've said. You've lost this debate, just take it like a man, not a fanboi. I'm sure some other nutter will stroke your Androidian ego by replying to that thread.

With only 19 posts, I guarantee this is a clone account.

@kingrob,

I guarantee you that you are in fact incorrect, perhaps try not make assumptions.

Because a member isn't a 'Super Grandmaster' such as yourself doesn't mean an account is cloned.

@fanie.dry,

You are correct, I did say "feel disjointed", however, I also said in that exact same reply "the whole thing that drives Android is customization".

I am happy that you can customize your 3 widgets to match that of your OS theme, I never argued (nor acknowledged) that fact.

My comment was based on my experience and the widgets I have used in the past, not ALL of them are customizable.

sYk0.

I actually started another thread, wished I could've deleted it. Don't feel like it either.

I haven't lost any debate because there was no debate. For it to have been a debate both sides needed to state their side of an opinion. You don't have any. Your more like a commentator at a sport event, rather than a participator. But that's fine, ek check jou colours.

This is as much a debate as any. Debating is about weighing arguments, asking questions, and tearing unfounded, subjective opinions to shreds. If a statement is not scientific fact, it's worthless.

Debate is not two howler monkeys screeching their opinions at each other as loud as they can, waiting for one to give in.

I don't believe you for one second.

Looks like a clone account to boost Windows Phone.

And what was your point by the way?

And what was your point by the way?

The "best OS" and "best phone" are subjective and differs from person to person, depending on their needs. You cannot selectively compare certain hardware/software aspects or add weight to certain features that you personally deem more important to arrive at a "general" best.
