So, is load shedding back?

Right on schedule Roodepoort loses power. 10:15am exactly all power goes off from Constatia Kloof through to Honeydew - at precisely the same time it did when load shedding was around.

Eskom throwing their toys?

Us, the public will pay in other ways (like loadshedding) for not giving them their beloved increase.

They know they pushed their fraud to far last time so they'll try quietly easing it in this time around.

We've had no problems since they abruptly stopped the power cuts. To think we were going without electricity for over 8 hours a week and now in the middle of winter nothing. What a farce

They basically hinted at this, strongly, on Friday...

That's what I was thinking of.

Maybe they finally got a coal delivery now.

According to the poweralert website there is no loadshedding, for what it is worth.

Surely they won't cut the power in winter? i'll freeze to death without my 2000W oil heater!

I haven't had proper loadshedding recently, but they have started giving us 5 minute power-cuts at irregular intervals for the last couple of days.

No one is answering phones at city power either - very unusual (no sarcasm).

Hence the reason why I started the Loadshed Confusion thread as it really doesnt make sense. Nobody was able to provide a definitive answer...

My house has one of those geyser relay's that work on a signal from the municipality. Yesterday morning at about 4 am it switched off. (I have very keen sense of hearing at night due to ZIM2.0 paranoia). It only came back on this morning at 6am. So I think there was some effort yesterday to cut dmeand etc.

BTech must be short for "BaTechO".
:D

Heh - just occurred to me what is more likely.
At 10:15am everyday our ripple controlled geysers are turned back on. I know this from years of experience.
So, geysers go on, power is overloaded - KA-WHAM. Outage,

So, not loadshedding, just power over load. Probably.
