Why is our power being cut?

Because electricity is a national network? There is not enough generation capacity in the WC to keep you going. Most power stations were built close to coal deposits to reduce the amount of transport required, and the electricity is then distributed throughout the country. Have a look here, you will see most of the base load stations are grouped close together in Mpumalanga.

Someone needs to tell Telkom about UPS`s and redundancy planning.

Were they not referring only to the modems at the customer end needing electricity?
