Loadshedding damages

A R200 Mecer UPS that I bought last month...

Isn't this the purpose of a UPS???

Lower efficiency on the solar system as I have set the minimum battery charge to 50 percent instead of 30 to ensure I always have enough juice to survive 4.5 hours.
Probably costs me R5 per day.

So far about a couples hours of sleep every night.

Let's say about 10 hours for now...

Samsung 55" TV

horizontal lines appeared one day, a few days later no picture.

now it's a music player.

Before surge protection.
Washing machine.
Fridge.
GPU

PSU
PSU
Alarm batteries as they don't cut off at 50%.
Lights bulbs.
LED bulbs

Now I switch off everything when Im home and wait 5 min. before switching it on. Also ordered 5 min. delay surge/lightning plugs. Then I don't need to do it manually.

PC is now on my Mecer 2400VA and never get switched off.

A R100 APC 500W UPS I got from Cash Converters, it just could not stay on Mains and kept toggling between battery and AC. I don't know if it's because of loadshedding or it was just time.
They sell UPS's there now? I sold a PC to them once and the guy thought it was a UPS due to the funny form factor it had. He told me they don't buy UPS's due to not knowing the age of the batteries.

I think it depends on the shop, mine has plenty of them in stock, in my case I did not need the batteries so I was able to negotiate.

Thanks. I will pop in at the Cape Gate branch because I'm also looking for a UPS and don't want those 7ah batteries. I want to hook up one or two 105ah batteries depending on the voltage. I need something that can power a 32" TV during loadshedding (only draws 28w in economy mode).

It worked like a charm for my TV, super silent and it was more efficient than my inverter.

Then you don't want a UPS - you want an inverter/ups/battery charger like the Mecer units or the Ellies units.

No, I want a UPS because it will work out much cheaper - since a UPS already contains battery charging and inverting capabilities.

yes, with very kuk small batteries that will die in 6 months.
Which is why I said I want to replace it with 105ah batteries. Loadshedding over here lasts for two hours so at 28w consumption, the TV won't even use 10% of that capacity.

but the charger in the ups is too small for those batteries, about 300mA, so if charger doesn't get fried in the process, it will take 3 days to charge said battery.

Just a **** decoder, and next month cancelled dstv after replacing the decoder.
