Local Apple iMac and MacBook pricing uncertain

The local mac users are no doubt going to be fleeced as per the course. I've probably got family coming down in Feb and I can easily wait until then.

Are you buying more? :)
My current laptop is over three years old and that's usually about the time I start thinking about taking it off the front line.

My current model (a 17") is also just a little too big to carry around for editing photos in the field so leaving it back in the studio just makes sense - there's still plenty of life in it.

You're going with a 13"? Macbook or Pro?

I use one of the older 13" models now sometimes (when I can claw it back from the missus) and the screen a little too small* - 15" should be a nice compromise.

i was seriously considering getting a macbook pro, but now that the macbook has been upgraded, it looks to be very worthwhile.

It will suppelment my win7 pc which I use for delphi development. I will shift all my php stuff over to the macbook..

any recommendations on what model and specs to go for?

Supplement or replace?

supplement... unless there is a way to do delphi development on OSX?

No but windows runs natively on Mac hardware these days so it really is a case of a single horse for many a course. :)

hmmm.. i wonder what would be the best way to do this?

I'm not really a fan of dual boot because it means shutting down my current session and restarting everything.

If i'm going to run a VM, then I might as well stick with windows

join that imac 27" with a desktop pc.. since it has displayport in and out.. DUAL BOOT on the go! looool

There are plenty of VM options on the mac side - some let you make use of the windows partition so you can run windows either way with a single installation.

Despite the lag in pricing confirmation, Apple products have a reputation for being readily available locally within a reasonable timeframe. For example; copies of Apple’s updated operating system Snow Leopard OS X were available nationally on the day of release.

How does 1 item give it a reputation of "reasonable timeframe" ?? We have ALWAYS had to wait....
