Local bandwidth download hotspots

NZB files are full of viruses??? Where do you get your NZB's from? The wicked witch in the west?

File sharing communities have stringent rules and those rules make the news servers great to be a part of! If you don't like NZB's or .torrents then please keep your opinions to yourself because either you haven't experienced the full power of such files yet or you've got your head stuck somewhere that it shouldn't be.
 
It's that stuff that... That you use to... Well think of it as a Nokia 3310. You'll only use it when you really really really need to because every other phone in your house is broken and you just can't afford buying another one.

They will lose clients and accounts by the thousands? There's nothing any lawyer in SA can do about Usenet servers. Its only a bunch of text files in any event. ;)

haha you think the file sharing communities like nzb's :P i can promise you nzb's aren't maintained by the proper scene at all.

torrents on the other hand, if your on the good sites, you see what the scene releases all day ! and yes my line hardly sits idle :P

the local news servers could be taken down, wouldn't bug me. They are so much effort, and it seems the people that use them are 95% noobs who now think they l33t cause they figured out how to DL smallville or something. But mentioning the local torrent community ! thats D1ck :)

Dude im sorry but yes im a NOOB and yes Smallville was one of the first things i wanted to get. Local is amazing..... ive downloaded alot on my 384 line.I dont know why everyone has to be so aggressive and b!!tchy over it.remember at some point you were INVITED or someone helped you out so you were also a noob.you never invented Local so i think its unfair how you going on about it... people take it personally like every episode or file that is downloaded from someone else is stealing from thier personal collection.

I for one am THRILLED i dont have to wait 5 months to get all how i met your mother episodes....fact. local ftw ftw ftwwwwwwww :cool:

Well, I'm pretty new to local, and I don't know all the things that this article talks about. Some friendly myBB people have sent me guides for torrents and news servers. I'm still trying to get my head around it. :o Not everyone knows as much about these things as you. Maybe the article is not aimed at you, because I picked up some new words/names to research. :confused:

+1. Local is for everyone who pays for it. And trust nothing is going to get shut down. Even if it is, file sharing will evolve. Something new will be developed:cool:

Telkom has tried to shape south africans internet usage patterns and still tries to this day, though days are numbered, but what it fails understand is that the internet is international.
users mostly follow international patterns but are having their balls cut-off by contention ratios and whatnot. Those who can afford uncapped start but raping the living daylights out of their connections but eventually settle down at international usage norms. Im sure if everyone had uncapped it would still be sustainable.
