Longest ever exposure

Right, what is the record for the longest exposure ever and still get a decent result?

Before you click the link jot down your guesstimate, I had no idea until I came across this.

My guess was around 6hrs.

Sure you can better that record on the polar caps where there is little light for months at a time

Wow, fascinating.

My wife and I were just this morning commenting on how different the sun's arc is during winter compared to summer as viewed from our early morning coffee spot every morning. This image shows it really well.
