Lonmin - What do people think

don't be tricked by the 'emotional buy'
you need to be realistic.....chances are very good that LONMIN will fail.

I'm thinking of buying R1000 and see what happens? At the end of the day it's only 1k. But that can turn into some decent money if things turn up.

Problem is, i do not have an understanding of what I'm buying into.
Hence me bumping this thread. Would love to pick other mybb users brain with more insight into this.

Read the mine web article above for a better opinion of what this rights offer means and some general analysis

If commodity prices recover in the next few months they will survive. Otherwise yes it's dicey
The automobile industry needs to recover then. Platinum is by far mostly use in the car industry as a catalyst in engines.
Jewelry ind. gets whatever is left after the demand in the car industry has been satisfied.

Might as well stick to lotto tickets then.

I'd rather take a punt on VW than this.

There are some big shareholders in Lonmin that are bailing out now. The writing is on the wall for this company unless the platinum price recovers sharply, which is unlikely even in the medium term because there is such a large physical stockpile of the metal.

The old stockmarket saying of "never try to catch a falling knife" was never more apt here. Buy Lonmin shares at your peril.
