Looking for 775 CPU.

Hi guys,

I am looking for a cheap :D intel cpu, socket 775. My boss has one, the C2D E6700, but he says I should make him an offer he can't refuse... :confused:
What will a good price be? I know I can get a E2220 for about R900, but I think the E6700 should be faster than this cpu?!?!

And I think R900 is to much for this CPU.

Depends how old it is. Considering you can't really find them anymore, it's quite old. R900 would be a fair price for this CPU, second hand. Considering that the newer E6750 would cost over R1500-00.
But only a little more would upgrade you to a E6850 (@3.0GHz). And even a little more than that will take you up to a E8200 or E8400 (which both have 6MB L2 cache vs 4MB on the E6xxx series, and are both 45nm based).

So to sum up: it all depends on how cheap you are. R900 would be a fair price for a E6700, I would think.
 
OR, you could get a E7200, it might only have a 2.53ghz clock, and 3mb cache, but it's using 45nm technology, and better still, it overclocks like a dream, and it only costs +-R1300
 
Thanx guys. I was thinking of about R600 as well, because the E2200 is R900, but then it is new, and they overclock lekker as well. :D

I will be running this CPU on a Asus Commando board and as far as I know, they don't really support 1333 FSB. I know a bios update will do the trick, but I don't want to spend that much on the CPU anyway, like I said before.

I would like to get my hands on a E5200 or a E4x00... :D (second hand :()
 
Haha, Then I could just as well get the E5200 myself... :D

@QX6700RULZ, I am going to make my boss an offer, if he doesn't take it, I will take yours. By the By, Didn't you want to collect all the C2D CPU's? :confused:
