Could anyone recommend a good laptop for a previous Toshiba Qosmio x300 owner(stolen:mad:).

Now im looking for something similar or even better.

Price range +- R15000 R20000

PS: If there is one that is touch screen for that price range then let me know.

Thanks in advance.

That's sucky as all hell - but what you gonna do 'cept move on ..and so we do: when you say X300, do you mean something like this one here?

If so I make the salient specs as being:
  • Core2Duo P8600
  • 2x2GB DDR2 RAM
  • 17" glass at 1440x900
  • GeForce 9700M GTS with 512MB GDDR3
  • 2x hard drive bays
..could you fill in/elaborate on what you had in there?

At that range I invite you to look at the Sager NP8760 which gives you a similarly-sized machine with 2 internal drive bays and specced out (as an example) with:
  • Core i7-820QM with Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound on CPU & GPU
  • 2x2GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz
  • 17.3" Full HD LED glass (glossy) at 1920 x 1080
  • GeForce GTX 285M Graphics with 1GB GDDR3
  • 1x 320GB 7200rpm SATA 300 (but 2 drive bays)
  • 2X BD-R Blu-ray Burner/8X DVD±R/2.4X +DL Super-Multi drive
  • Windows 7 Pro 64bit
comes to $2354 now (at 02:54) comes to R17,868.95 - and that's just off the website, if you were to give me an exact spec I could work off price list for more accurate numbers instead.

If you wanted to go with something lighter, I recently discussed the NP7762 with someone I know and established that this model comes in at the ~R10-R13k range (similarly setup with Blu-ray writer, FYI)

Saw an Acer Aspire for around R16k at Incredible a few weeks ago. It definitely had a touchscreen (but not sure which resolution. At least 1366x768, though), and I'm pretty sure Bluray.

OMW how hardcore was that laptop ºº. I thought my HP 8710w was alright...dang!
