Hey guys, I upgraded by pc recently with 5gb ram and geforce 8800gt. My current 350w cant handle all that + the overclocking. So I'm going to be buying a new power supply. What do you guys think of the Raidmax Volcano 630W?
Its modular which is a big plus imo. Please make suggestions/offer advice as I've never bought a psu. Just got generic ones with my cases.

Depends on what you want to spend on your PSU.

I've always found the Antec ones to work very well.

You don't need a 630W PSU, a 500W would be more than enough.

Ya i have a Coolermaster 550w Real Power, not modular but i think its decent

I've got a Thermaltake 500W (I think it's the Toughpower, not too sure) and it gets the job done :)

My vote goes to the Corsair VX450W. It has a longer warranty than most PSU's and it's quiet and stable

I have a Thermaltake 550W Toughpower lying around for R500,00 - 110% working condition:

Complies with ATX 12V 2.0 Version.
Supports 2 PCI-Express, 4 S-ATA, and 20+4 pin connector.
PFC function, improved energy efficiency and reduced current load on AC delivery systems.
Low noise 12cm fan and mirror effect housing.
Power ON/OFF LED indicator: green light indicates power on and orange light indicates stand by mode.
Protections against Over Current, Over Voltage, and Short-Circuit.
Safety / EMI Approvals: UL, CUL, TUV, and CE certification.

I have it for about a year now - no problem with it - psu 100% unless Eskom pulls the plug:)
