Looking for PCB for this 3tb drive.

Send it back and plead stupid, just by replacing pcb the drive wouldn't always work, had a client with bad experience (faulty PSU). (confirm with SouthBit, but thats my experience in the last month)

Ha the infamous ST3000dm001. I have one which stopped working in December last year and I lost everything on it (70% ; thankfully all important stuff were backed up). I was about to warranty it in July when I accepted to initialize it (in the months since failure I was hoping for recovery somehow) and got it working again.

So now it is a media backup device.

I assume you want the pcb for recovery? This model is infamous, although I know the problems were those manufactured aprox from 2012-2014.

Just want PCB to make the drive work so i can use it or sell it.

I basically bought this drive new for client and damaged it . So I had purchase new one for the client. Just want to recover some of the money I lost.

Sell it? ;) ;) ;)
LOL
Long story here. You can do it having proper tools (serial ROM programmer or professional data recovery tools). Moving content of the ROM from old PCB is essential. In some cases you can just swap serial ROM chip (if present). If you start just by swapping PC board, firmware on the drive will pickup a new setup and it will corrupt existing data in firmware. In result the drive will always have performance issues.

That's the danger seagate drive as another user said.

Take it back and get a Western digital.

Those ST300M1 drives from Seagate have a nigh 100% failure rate.

Lost 2 of them myself, never touching it again.

Southbit says they can adapt new one for R950 which will get drive back and running :)

Think I will take them up on offer if can't fins 2nd hand pcb to replace it with . Just want pcb so that I can that RMA the drive at supplier at this stage.
