Goooood morning ladies and gents, I have a bit of a predicament and I'm hoping someone can help me. On the 12th of December I ordered a microwave off Loot. Yeah, I know, ordering something like that online and whatnot but we didn't have time to go to a store, didn't know when or where we'll be, etc. and it was a tad cheaper. Any excuse not to spend time in appliance stores that time of the year, so yeah. Anyway.

Initially the order page listed the delivery date as the end of that week, around the 21st of December. That was perfect for us, so I took it. However, without notice, the delivery date was changed to the 28th of December, a week later. I just assumed that the holidays played a role and brushed it off.

On the 29th nothing had arrived. I checked my order and it was still the same date. I left it, and on the 30th I gave them a call. "Sorry", they said, "the supplier has closed on the 14th and will be opening on the 7th of January only". OK, that's fine. Delivery date then from the 8th. Sounds not too bad, but I'm starting to get annoyed now because I have no answers.

The 8th comes and goes, with no updates. I send an email because I'm a bit hot under the collar and don't want to yell at some innocent call centre agent, and get an update that the delivery date will now be the 17th of January. Yet another extension. By now I'm pretty damn livid. My wife tells me to calm down, and "it'll come, the 17th is still OK".

So guess what happened yesterday? I get an email. "Sorry but it's been delayed to the 23rd of Jan". Mother.F. I send an email demanding some sort of guarantee because my wife tells me "23rd is still OK". I send an email asking for some sort of guarantee that it'll come on the 23rd, but get a generic "sorry, this is what the supplier tells us" answer. Now this just pisses me off, since I deal with Loot, and not their damn supplier.

Does anyone know what I can do other than to cancel the order? Have someone higher up who I can email or contact? I don't want to cancel since I want that specific model, it ticks all my boxes for a lower price than in other stores, so yeah they kinda have me by the balls here.

PS: The HelloPeter page for them paints exactly the same picture. I've used them before with no issues though so it seems like it's a new problem.

I am not sure what you are asking? Their supplier has stock issues. Cancel the order and go buy one from the myriad of stores that stock them locally. How are they going to make a guarantee when their supplier most likely will not give them one?

Retailers have stock issues all the time. I am not surprised they have this issue with small consumer goods.

My gripe is they keep extending the deadline, and they seemingly just shift the blame to the supplier - while they comfortable hold on to my money. They have not offered an alternative, they have not once manned up and said that they have an issue. All they say is "our suppliers say this". It's not like it's proper messages either, they're short and almost look like a "just piss off will ya" type message. But yeah I think I should just cancel the order. I don't think I should deal with this like this now.

I find Loot service to be excellent and I bought my Dishwasher from them. I have also successfully cancelled a couple of orders. It seems like the supplier is the issue. There is nothing they can do except cancel your order. I am not sure what else they can do for you. Just send them a mail saying please cancel the order as you have been waiting a month for the item and it is unacceptable. They will probably cancel it and give you a voucher. You can also ask for in store credit and get a different item if you want to.

Don't give up on Loot and maybe order a different brand if you want to. It is difficult to find a good online store and generally Loot has been good. Must be difficult to run a store when the suppliers suck.

Its not about just cancelling an order, you have spent money time to purchase that item/s. There are doing the same thing to me i bought a washing machine through them because i thought i would be saving a couple hundred bucks but it seems like the joke is on me now. I would recommend buying small value items or maybe items that they have in stock

Loot.co.za is a fraud. To all online customers.. Beware!!!
1. They don't have a customer service:- they don't take people calls. I spent about R100 for calls with them after 35 min a machine will answer you. - I went on to email them twice. The automated message said that they would call me back within 2 business days.. but guess what? They never called, never even had the decency reply to my emails.
2. I bought a hard drive for a laptop i use everyday. On the purchasing page, they said it was going to take 3 business day for delivery. After buying, it was another story. The delivery was extended by over a week. I can't even track the item?
For now, i would like to get my money back.

Please avoid Loot.co.za when purchasing online.

Loot.co.za is the best

1. I have received nothing but excellent service
2. as well as fast shipping time,
3. as well as easy returns and warranty repairs.
4. I might have bought 3 air fryers from them.
5. Only buy Philips Airfryers.
6. Philips airfryers are also the best.

Don't hesitate to use loot when shopping online for a Philips Airfryer XL .
They one of the best!

•except when you buy a microwave on the crazy holiday season. =p

i use to collect them, hard to find, only have a handful
im tempted to buy the reprinted editions now :)
I prefer the reprinted editions and soft cover. The graphics are beautiful and colourful. Although if someone is stupid enough to give away the original prints I would take it in a heartbeat.

Oh, an update, my microwave arrived. Sometime in the start of February, IIRC. Great microwave. Still attain that Loot's service was terrible. Kept promising me it's "shipped" but yeah, guess that's how they defuse customers. In the meantime, we got a baby in the house, so worrying about delivery times is a boringly trivial thing these days, so I don't really care anymore :D

Did the baby come with a remote or did that also go missing as usual?

No remote, no batteries, no instructions, nothing. Wife grew food so that helped, but that's more or less where it stopped.
