Lost Soul looking for some help with Wordpress

Hello everyone

I wish to learn how to create Wordpress websites. I have 0 experience in this sort of thing but it's something i wish to learn but i just have a few questions that i can't seem to find answers for which i am hoping some very knowledgeable people here will help me with.

First off is there a way to practice wordpress without having to buy a domain name and pay for web hosting first?
2. If the first point is possible is it then possible to move the website from my local computer to a web host?
3. If point two is possible which webhost would you suggest i use? I was looking at a place called Hetzner. I also have a domain (co.za extension) i wish to transfer to it. The domain belongs to my mother but she no longer has a website.

I assume you are using Windows on your PC, if so, use this to practice on your own PC:

Once you have practiced, you can then move to a webhost.. domains.co.za is my preferred choice of webhost.. To transfer your images, use ftp.. Your webhost should have instructions for this..

That being said, any pages you create in WordPress is not made public until you publish it.. Therefore, it's probably easier if you practice on your webhost directly, by using a subdomain like dev.mywebsite.co.za..

Testing on your local computer is worth the setup initially and there are many tools to then migrate those changes to an actual web server.

Thank you kindly for your responses everyone. I have managed to get wordpress working on my local computer. I shall now actually learn how to use it then look into the hosting options. Thank you for your time and help

Nothing.. It is too simple to do yourself to pay someone..

In fact, I would do it for free, if you weren't hosting with Mweb..

If you do pay someone, be very careful (post here for advice). I have seen some sharks out there, that charge for extra pics on sliders etc.
There are people out there looking to take advantage, which irritates me, as the work is not too difficult. I know very little about cars, so I want my mechanic to be upfront and honest with me...
