Low Cars / Modded car thread.

How are there so many new cars that either have lowering kits or air suspension installed?

I was advised by a VW service advisor that if I installed lowering springs (HnR or Eibach), that my warranty would be voided.

There’s no way the owner of a brand new RS3 doesn’t care about their warranty/Freeway plan. Or maybe some dealerships overlook it?

Well the warranty would only be voided for the suspension and linked components not the entire car so if that’s a risk you are willing to take then so be it.

But if you do this with reputable parties they would put their own warranty on the changed parts so shouldn’t really matters.

I’m sure dealerships also have partners they approve for work being done.

as Sauron said, related parts that fail wont get replaced. However, where does it end, a very low car destroys the sump? will insurance pay out? or the wheel profile causes accellerated wear on the bearings and hubs and on and on. most people just take the risk. infact i think you will be surpised how much people just dont give a damn about warranty/insurance. posing is more important

Not even talking about the ghetto low cars. Most hatches come with 4x4 wheel gaps, it's ridiculous, but nothing a 30mm lowering kit can't sort out. I remember some of the German brands actually sold and offered in-house installations of manufacturer approved lowering springs, which no longer seems to be the case with VW.
