So I need a low end hosting solution, more for the email than the website. Looking around I found Axxess has something that may meet my needs. Anyone with good/bad comments, or other suggestions? TIA

Um... If it's just for the email, why not consider using GMail with addresses of your choice?

That == free

I need a bit more than that, as I intend registering my own .co.za domain name, thus want email addy to be [email protected], so will need somewhere to host it.

Thanks Texo, will check it out.

No, if you register your domain, you will be able to set up email forwarding (through something like www.zoneedit.com). Then you forward to Gmail, and set Gmail to be able to send from [email protected]

I have done this with a (free) .za.net domain

Thanks for heads up, sn3rd, yeah I am a real n00b when it comes to this stuff :o

Well it's just a suggestion that would save you some $$$

Unless you want to specifically store the mail on your own servers, then it works out so much cheaper to do it this way :)

Lusion would have been great if you wanted to host a few websites :D!

I adore Google Apps. (Actually i forward all my mail to my gmail account, but don't tell any one :))

Real Webspace has a email hosting plan, but i can suggest the basic package, i think it will suit your needs, plus later you could always add a basic web page.

With Google Apps theres no need to forward mail, google apps offers a branded version of gmail with your own domain.

I know but the problem is it changes the mx-records and i need them intact for subdomains and other email experiments...
