Hi,

Cell C supposedly launched LTE in Cape Town today (Dec 1st 2015), however I'm only receiving the usual HSPA+

I've gotten some SMS from Cell C saying I should shortly receive my APN data settings, however, I have not received them, and also don't receive them after requesting them on *147# option 8.

Do i need new APN settings to connect to LTE? If so, can anyone share what they should be. Or is the issue that they haven't switched on the LTE network in CT yet?

Cheers,
Andy - (Nexus 6 / android)

As far as i know its the same apn.

Your number has to be enabled for lte though and for some reason you need a USIM not just SIM.

Do manual network search. If you see Cell C LTE (or 4G) on the list, but it don't connect when selecting it or it just says 'forbidden', then you have SIM problem.

Hi Andy

Thank you for posting to us.

Kindly send us an email to [email protected]

In the email, please include your address + your Cell C number.

We would need to check if your area is covered for LTE.

^^^ Answer the APN question?

Same APN have been using on my P8 for a while now.
Yup. My phone switches over to cellc 4g without any changes to setting required. @tindlund: You might just be without coverage where you're testing it. I get reception in quite a few places in southern sbrbs and town.
