When corruption and non-accountability are the order of the day with government how can they expect anybody else to have an appreciation of law enforcement (when government obviously suffer none.)

When 'concerned parties' (ie, the people of SA) raise the question of crime in parliament they are told to STFU and "just leave this country." When government themselves and those employed by them are shown to be the most corrupt and criminal of all: and nothing is done how can we expect moral servitude from the people?

More police are not the solution to crime in this country: government pulling its finger out its arse, delivering to the people, and giving a clear and concise message of accountability; not least with themselves would go some way to "solving" crime in this country.

If the courts and prison system do not work; and neither do 'the rest of them' then we have no hope of redress in this country.

Crime is not about more policeman: crime is about 'laissez faire' from government: their non-caring, their sloth. Do not expect the man in the street to be morally upright and of good bearing: when there are no examples given by our leaders.

Sharia Law: is this what we want for our country? I don't think so.

Sympathy for all victims of crime.

Jailed murderers will find it much harder to get parole in future. The Correctional Services Portfolio Committee has given this assurance after working on amendments to South Africa's imprisonment legislation.....

"I also want to assure the entire public that we as the portfolio committee are very serious about making life very very difficult for this coward killers and rapists in our country. We have just passed an ammendment to the correctional service act on Thursday that will make life very difficult for them (prisoners) inside," Bloom said.

No-one will ever care that this Lady was shot... the police wont even start looking for these attackers. The CID's are all out to lunch looking for Manto's papers and such trivial cases.

Does anyone remember that Lucky Dube is dead... or has winning RWC eroded the bad memory of a hero being mowed down.... I didnt see any black armbands on the rugby players arms... nor was there a moments silence in memory.

Nothing! all lip service. People are going to get 'allegedly' arrested and then nothing else...... Luckys death is going to amount to ZERO

Its indeed worrying. Whatever the motive is, its a traumatic experience for his kids. I have a suspicion that there's more to come on this story. He was shot three times because they wanted to kill him!
