Lumia 1520

This is a lovely phone having moved from 920 to 1520. Just waiting for Cyan update in June or later. I will not update and follow the masses to the 1.8 Preview, this voids your warranty unfortunately.
 
My phones from the past, LGG2, HTC One, Nokia 920, Nokia 1020, Note 3, Galaxy S4. Played with them for 2 months max then swop or sell it. Bought the 1520 a few months ago and this is just one great phone with a wow screen and a battery that just keep on going. Not even looking at the new arrivals anymore.
 
Hey guys, considering getting my dad to go for one of these for his next upgrade. Hes retired and not that techno savy, however I think this would be a good next phone instead of having a phone and a tablet. Also loaded windows 8 on their computer and they seem to love the interface so figured it would be more unified.. Anyone got some real world feed back as to problems or issues? ie like my 920 used to randomly restart or go blank requiring a forced restart. Battery life with moderate use? What are the charge times like? Accessories are there decent pouches or cases available?
 
I've used a manbag for years. (This in no way impugnes my masculinity, and got over that before the age of 30.)

Here's a quick snap of the bag and half-inserted Lumia 1520, which fits perfectly into a zippered side pocket.

(Excuse flash and paw prints on the Lumia - I've just removed a lawnmower wheel and got some grease on the phone...)

Fortunately I have big hands and I like a big display.
Cant wait for mine to arrive tomorrow \0/
 
Has anyone bought a cover for one of these?
Seems pretty hard to get hold of. I have seen some terrible looking phone skins type things but they wont really work.
I have been using a super thin snap on back cover on my S3 and would love something like that.
 
Ok so I got my phone, I love this thing.
Its massive though, taking some getting used to.
Is it worth doing the dev preview to WP8.1?
Still trying to get it to sync my contacts from google atm.

WP 8.1 preview is 100% solid, i have encountered no bugs and it is light years ahead of WP8 - notification center, transparant tiles, cortana (if u want) . i would strongly suggest you do it. Lumia 920

+1. Did an employee's brand new 520 when it was delivered. Very smooth
 
Got my new Lumia 1520 two weeks ago, and still loving it. Nice to see you get a R250 voucher via the Nokia Gift app to load on your Microsoft Account to buy apps :)
 
Anyone with a 1520 looking at moving back to android? Got an S4 with a bit of cash I'd be interested in trading. Otherwise, anyone selling for a reasonable price?

It is actually a win-win. Because person A will move to Android, and B will move to WP. Then A will end up moving back to WP. 100% user-gain!

:D. I just want to try something new, I've had three major OSes and multiple android phones... I ran a Lumia 610 for about a week. POS! I want to review my opinion on WP since installing 8.1 on an employee's brand new company phone (520)
 
I personally think this one is too big but I don't think I want to wait for the 930. I might just replace my Nexus 7 and iPod Touch with a 1320 to try it out:)
