Lumia 920 Thread

Looks like I spoke too soon. Just had two random reboots whilst browsing.

That is seriously bad. You just loose all confidence in your phone.

Had it once with a Nokia. It would be in my pocket and when I take it out, it's at the login screen again. Then friends tell me they tried to get hold of me. Nokia went into shoebox, never to see the light of day again.

I have also noticed an issue when I connect my phone to the Bluetooth in my car. It works fine, but after ten or so minutes the phone loses its cellular connection and won't get it back till I reboot.

will test more comprehensively tomorrow

Yip, that puts me right off!!

Not totally unexpected though, with Windows 8 being so new. There bound to be bugs.

What will be critical, is how quickly these issues are identified and resolved. Critical!! Critical!! Critical!!

One just gets the impression that all parties involved have invested massive resources in this product. I expect solutions shortly!!

The reboots arent the worst part. Seems the phone losing cellular service is not limited to connecting to bluetooth.
It happened again on way to work, with bluetooth off. I get a circle with a cross in it where the signal bar is supposed to be (which represents no sim card in phone).
Nothing I do gets me connected again until I reboot the phone.
I will do a screen shot on the phone when it happens again

/EDIT/ Screen shot below. It has done this twice in the lat 5 minutes. I didnt even have to move or bump the phone for it...

Does anyone know how to change the volume on specific sounds, IE for message alerts without changing the volume of the whole phone?

I've been having the same issue with the phone losing service connection, all started yesterday afternoon. Happened nearly 10 times this morning. I'm on Vodacom, anyone else having the sames issues ?

Just a question and suggestion - have you privisioned your SIM card for 4G / LTE with Vodacom? If you haven't or you are in an area that doesn't have LTE coverage from the operator, suggest you change your phone setting to Highest Connection speed of 3G

do you have to reboot as well to fix this? or Does it rectify itself.
I left mine for over an hour, definitely needs a reboot to fix my issue

I didnt request it to be provisioned, let me try switch it to 3g only and see if it makes a difference.

My SIM is the same one i used in my iPhone, so i would guess that it is not provisioned for 4G/LTE (yes Vodacom is my service provider). I will make the Highest Connection speed change and see if it resolves my issue.

Thanks for your suggestion.

Great - hope it solves the issue :)

A link to get whatsapp, just tested and it works.
Note, whatsapp seems to be partially responsible for phone lockups

Whatsapp for WM8

I cannot check the link now, but from what i gather thats the market place link.
That version does not work on WM8, hence, the link for the softpedia, which has a version that was pulled of market place, which does work

You can also go to www.whatsapp.com and then click to download from there
