good day , do we have confirmation problems on the blockchain i have two btc depodits still pending on 0/3 confirmations for more than 18hrs on my luno received btc page , can you advise if its internal or blockchain problem

Definitely not a random database...

I have never received a phishing email using the unique email address I have on Luno.com, which has been there since I registered on their site as bitx many years ago.

I have however received luno phishing emails using an email address that I created when signing up to local bitcoin 'investment' websites (btcglobal) in order to confirm my suspicions of a scam. I had the exact same thing a year or two ago on the email address I created for signing up to MMM ponzi scheme.

It is possible the databases of these get rich quick scheme websites is sold on to others, but more likely its the same people are themselves using the websites as a honeypot to get users login details and email address. Many people use the same password and email on multiple websites. Many people dont use 2FA.

As per the above, we reccomend being very cautious when sharing your email address on any platform.

We can't be sure exactly how phishing attackers collect personal data, but we are aware of some methods known as “email harvesting”. Read more here: https://www.luno.com/blog/post/bitcoin-phishing-fraud-fighting-luno

I wonder if they don't take a chance and target email addresses with any form of Crypto associated in some way or form, assuming that the user uses Luno exchange as it's the main one being used in SA. They would have some that reach people who are users and some that don't... Do you get what i'm trying to say?

As for 2FA... If someone isn't making use of 2FA they are either stupid or not aware of it. Cannot fathom why someone wouldn't be using 2FA in today's day and age

I also have seen a few dodgy looking 'Crypto Surveys' being shared on whatsapp groups and facebook where you can Win some bitcoin in a lucky draw, and the survey asks things like: What exchange do you use?, Are you holding or trading? etc etc.
Of course you enter with your name, phone number and email, and every pleb enters to win some bitcoin. I am convinced this is just a method to get as much info as possible in order to spear phish your account in an email tailored just for you.

Great idea for a thread :)
I'm happy to jump in when I can, however I don't have a lot of time every day to check on posts just yet.

Don't know if this has been mentioned. When withdrawing money it now adds the R8.50 fee separately. The page however still says you have to add it to your withdraw amount.
That's just a reminder to include in your personal calculation when withdrawing. For example, should you wish to withdraw R50, R8.50 of that will be deducted automatically :)
Not sure if this was for me but I see it seems to have been updated correctly.
