Luno Support and Queries Thread

yeh- "in hindsight if you're trading you would have made a killing if you sold at R112k again. "
i dont really get trading as much as i thought i did, i mean i never told myself it is easy but i thought it seemed easy to understand buy low sell high....but it is actually not that simple..if i see it again.
Dont know, its bit much for me.
I would love to know how to do this though
Im tired of small money , i relly want to make some proper money that i shoud hae made already.
like at least 30 to 50 k and not stupid small movements of 2-3 to 5 k

I see guys on here buying 30 coins so i am obviously doing something wrong.
I am past the age range of 30's also so , help me lord

My aim here is for long term, like leave it for a month or so...which i have done so already and so far its okay but its pretty useless considering we have already moved up 2000 dollars in recent hype and activities.
So rand terms which is a better elastic, i am doing pretty shocking.

I should be coining more than 10 times of that 2000 (my own benchmark) so i am clearly useless.
In 2017 i would have made 50k but i was such an idiot i was trying to withdraw my money and i was able to but i was also stupid because i should have just converted my BTC to ZAR.
Kicking myself. Very heart about that . and its been almost 1.7 years u can call it.

1. I chose a number between on of those top light greens yesterday.
Wait, so i am interested in this but i am also tired now to talk about this lol - I hate the typing
But are you suggesting the best price between red and green is obviously the margin and that could be 1 rand
, but is it a number there ....so the topmost green number is lways the one to "rather " use.... if it was a climbing scenario...
2. I could possibly try that yes buy if it reaches 7k else if it is still coming down then buy at about 6500 whatever odd.
i follow dollar mainly, and im not in SA now so my currency defaults to not ZAR so its a mission to refresh and keep changing the drop down.
1. Yes in a climbing scenario the top green would probably be the one to use. Where with a dropping scenario if you're selling it would be the opposite. But it also happens that the spread can be more than R1 or the orders are very thin in which case you would have to decide where to place your order. In lots of cases if there's room someone else (or a bot) will better your price.

The guys on here buying 30 BTC aren't doing it on Luno. R90k is also an exceptionally high amount to start trading with for someone who doesn't really have much experience. I usually recommend people use like R100 to see how the exchange works and then if they trade use like R1000 to see if it works. And above all never use money you can't lose or buy on debt.

Perhaps you should be following the action here https://mybroadband.co.za/forum/threads/bitcoin-thread-2018.936409/

Watching the price 6850 to 6920 , i need to go sleep now, so this is where it gets fun, i cant watch when i sleep.
I need a watcher for me and i could do the same because of timezone difference.

Don't worry man you're not useless. I could have gotten R70k from putting in only R20k. Instead I let it drop back to just R30k and also got R10k stolen in the process. Most of us want to kick ourselves at some point. Few people saw it ever reaching $20k and of those who did most didn't see it dropping again and lost out.

You can set up alerts to wake you up;)

There are alerts you can use. I don't know much about it but ask in the forum.

EDIT: Beat me to it.

Yeh , i got in on the top of the mountain with bigger leverage of 30k and 10 and 20 k before that, but unfortunately when it dipped from 19.9 whatever it was ....down to 17 then 16k it was very close to the heavier leverage bringing me lower , so i think i got to like past my investment and F i was listening to everybody on the bitcointalk.org forums and all sorts of places and they kept saying hold..... THEY WERE RIGHT because look now... BUT actually not completely because i had bought at 10@6 odd 20@12 odd and 30@16 or 17k odd
so yeh, not easy to see your money vanish.
I wanted to sell at like 17k but i was like worried i would lose my leverage from where i entered
Anyways its done its old news now....I had like 5 k in there and i just left it and thankfull it started bubbling up and i then noticed some stories popping up about bitcoin.

You can set up alerts to wake you up;)
Thanks i will check , else use LUNO to alert me....but sometimes deep sleeps beat those beeps.
And i am with my wife and kid in the room so not easy lol.

I need ur help please before i get sick
I have messages Luno support and the consultant i am talking to is like a robot, he keeps replying with please note...
I still cont have clarification on the OPEN ORDER i was telling u about yesterday,
This guy is telling me i can not cancel.stop the oder
i dont understand it, it makes no bloody sense
there are tons of trades like mine as u explained to me yesterday and they are not always all fully bought or sold, or should we rather say fulfilled.
I am only trying to ask these guys (probably being to cautious)
what are the affectss when i Stop the OPEN ORDER
i mean **** sake, why cant the guy tell me this, he is telling me half...

Oh ffs Luno support seems just as inept as the rest of support in SA.

Just go ahead and cancel the order. Nothing bad will happen. :) If it doesn't want to cancel however then it's an error on the platform.

If you cancel an unfulfilled order there usually isn't any ramification - at least on most exchanges I've used, I haven't traded on Luno for a long time.

yeh so i assume you read the discussion i had ?
I sent it to you also.... BUT seriously , do i make sense? i am asking the correct question or information right?
If you read the discussion/message i sent to you here

One thing i need to confirm is....this tick, somebody told me yesterday about checking the tick:
This the TRADES under COMPLETED TRADES.... so i.e. the 0.7 of my 0.9 buy order i made

1557771060963.png

This is the ORDERS under the OPEN ORDERS
1557771165675.png

I did not notice before that you can see 2 different panes in the ORDERS pane....i.e. the TRADES and OPEN

So fs, the guy is telling me in the chat i sent you , that i can not cancel my order, im like f its not what i am asking, but every reply i get is "please note " so fs i dont fking know

I just want to fking cancel the portion 0.2 btc of the 0.9 btc buy order i made of which 0.7 was fulfilled and the 0.2 was not fking not.

Its just the phone app and the browser show different messages , and it confuses me i cant be the only guy .
The ony thing is that i am too over cautious , but of course because i worked hard for my money and i currently dont have work

The trades show individual trades. So somebody filled it by selling 0.764124 or they sold more and there were orders before yours which became partial fills for theirs. I preferred when it showed orders instead so you could see the total transaction on past orders like it does on the app. I don't know if it still does but for this reason I won't be upgrading it.

I can't believe you still haven't canceled that order.

Its a fking stupid or misleading message which is saying cancel order ...... the 0.9 i dont fking know why, it should surely say 0.2
This is what gets me, why does it not show this?
Or does it shw the original container-order description?

Thanks.... maybe i should have asked this question this way, f sake 1 whole day missed now

Im assuming (the part there in the picture which says FILL.... is what is indicating that 0.7 of the 0.9 has already been traded.... ) so like u said, it cant be touched? its not like it can be "un-traded" and i am then down in my BTC wallet , right ?
u get what i am also asking here?

Swa "I can't believe you still haven't canceled that order."
I have now stopped the order , i was like f this this is ruining my chances more and delaying me.

LUNO i cant believe your support team consultant i recently spoke to it really give me less confidence in future chat support on the web.
Either the consultant did not explain or check what i am actually asking so that he could give the best reply possible.

So now you have confirmation of how it works.

Yes I can't believe this level of support coming from Luno. For those wondering from the verbatim copy of the communication it was indeed stated that you can't stop a partially filled order.

You do realise that the many trades make up the order? Placing an order will always stay the same, regardless of how many trades have filled the order.

Check the trades tab to see how much of it has been filled, or place better orders.

Of course you can stop a partially filled order, you can't reverse a partially filled trade within that order.
Don't see how this is Luno's issue? This is basic trading.
