Nobody asks the obvious question on how this may be possible? Until now I never heard about a BMW burning out for excessive revving?
 
lol the Mercedes driver must've been chuffed...
The GP car wasn't use to the DBN climate :p

With higher revving you get more heat into the system and since in this case there is no airflow, the heat dissipation is severely limited. So yeah. School fees IMO.

Am sure there is a clause at mentions "using the vehicle for anything other than its intended use".

This.

Had the vehicle been driven normally, and it caught fire, then yes.

But since the vehicle was used to see whose vehicle can roar the loudest (or whatever from my understanding from the posts above) then the insurer may call the coverage null and void.
 
How dumb can you be!

Should not have posted photos of your car burning in a open forum or twitter and admitting you took part in a revving competition.

So much for an insurance claim.

Exactly what I thought, lol.

I've been to a few Pop Bottles parties here in Jhb, they start early in the afternoon and end late at night, by about 4pm those who don't pace themselves and the 'lightweights' are dropping, by 7pm almost everyone is drunk, by 10PM majority are wasted, people are dancing, some are trying to 'get it in' in the bushes bathrooms or cars, so it gets pretty crazy and when in a flashy car, which there is never a shortage of at PB parties with 18-25yrld kids rocking up in parents Range Rovers, X5Ms, Cayennes or the GTIs, S3s etc...parents bought them, many want to look cool and do stupid things, I've seen some crazy stuff happen, but THIS takes the cake.

I get the feeling he kept revving over and over again and then at some point kept the accelerator down for far too long and BOOM! I'm pretty sure that M3 flashed many warning signs on its iDrive display, but the idiot who didn't even own the car, was probably so drunk and only thinking of impressing the ladies.
