Why on earth would you want to rev past 2000 while stationery?
 
Mind you, youngsters will always want to show off...

...lots of engine noise, screeching rubber and a whiff of petrol go together to form a volatile mixture...

The father is a total twat for not having foresight in it's day the Burnt Orange colour was quite sought after for sports BMW's.

I'm thinking sitting a robot, 1st selected but clutch depressed - would it still limit to 2,000rpm?
If so, at what point of the clutching being released does it goes from limit 2,000 to unlimited?

This could limit your pull offs and if you get your clutch control slightly wrong, could be a jerky ride

If you're revving past 2000 with the clutch not fully engaged, you drive like ass ;)
 
... and that limit could impact just a slightly faster than usual pull off - like in a hijack or medical emergency. Sounds like a silly idea to me ;)

EDIT : I'm all for limiting in neutral and many cars do it - but not as low as that. As I say if you're a youngster still learning clutch control and the clutch it marginal in, it limits you?

And many women ride the clutch slightly high heels on - or if the clutch pedal is set so sensitive that even a touch lists it as engaged and limit added

As you can see, a whole lot of drunk kids, the car is being revved a bit, and there is smoke already coming from under the car. There is not only a C63 but also a Chevy Lumina Utility SS, check how they all clear out when they realize the car is burning.
