Mac OSX Lion.

Only thing I don't like is I can't go back and forward in Firefox anymore using 2 finger swipe on my magic mouse. :(

That is now assigned to mission control.
Odd - it works in Safari.

Yep - just right click on the toolbar, click customize toolbar and you can add a button for it.

Another handy button to add is the downloads one since they've removed it from the Window menu.

There is a new downloads popover button there by default now - on the right.

Where do disable it on the mbp I dnt see any setting regarding gestures there?
Here you go.

How do I get Terminal out of fullscreen mode?

Same as any other FS app. Take the pointer to the top of the screen and hold it there for a second until the menu bar shows up, then click on the blue arrows icon in the extreme right of the menu bar.

Has anyone found a way to make fullscreen apps not blank the second monitor?

And to have fullscreen happen on the second monitor if that's where the app was?

When I make an app fullscreen, it moves to the primary screen, my background image on the secondary gets replaced with a grey one and I can't do anything on it - not useful at all.

This isn't really what I'm after. In his post, he has the external screen configured to be primary (he doesn't say so, but that's they only way this trick will work). I want my primary screen to remain active, i.e. access to the doc, the menu bar, and the files on my desktop. A blanked out desktop is no good, even if I can move an application on to it.

Why? I've just tried it as described and it works. Granted it's something Apple needs to address asap but the hint stands.

The system preferences window he mentioned is on the laptop screen and the full screen app on the external. Given that I can't see a way of making something fullscreen on the my secondary screen, he must have had the external set to primary.

His hint allows you to display two apps - it doesn't address either of the issues I have.

That may be the way he did it but it doesn't preclude the laptop display from being the primary. I tested it that way, and it worked. ;) I've got safari full screen on the laptop and chrome running on the second monitor.
