Managed to borrow some Snow Leopard update disks from clasqm and I'm having trouble updating my copy of Leopard 10.5.8 When Insert disk and click on snow Leopard install.dmg it asks me to click on user agreement and after that nothing a screen flashes and I'm taken back to the DVD autorun screen. Screen has yellow caution that says"MAc OSX Snow Leopard cannot be installed on this computer"

My Mac which is vanilla from iStore (2009 Macbook PRO 5.1) 2.53 Intel CORE 2 Duo with 4meg 300gig drive. I tried to "wiggle" the partition size I read that might help, but not for me. Thought I might not have enough free hard drive space, cleared up 100gig. I'm stumped must be honest. Anyone that updated to Snow Leopard from Leopard have any issues like this?

If you are using a store bought Snow Leopard disk it will work. If you are using a System Snow Leopard disk that came with a friends Mac, it will not work, as it's specific to the Mac model it came with.

Have a feeling this might be the case. Thanks for that.
