mac pro emitting odour

the mac is 9 days old - i just missed the f*ckn 7 day swap out period - now i have to drive to jet park (40km) and leave my machine there for a couple of weeks, which is just crippling business-wise. Core is not getting any business from me again.

I had an xserve G5 that was giving tremendous issues. Had the logicboard replaced twice. Complained numerously to Core. Eventually they replaced the whole machine with the new Intel Xserve 9 months later. So they will replace out the unit if you complain enough. Only problem is you will be without the unit for awhile while they try figure out what the issue is. I'd say pester them for a new unit, seeing as its only 9 days. Get a DOA on the unit. Once also got Core to DOA a G5 after two weeks after the hard drive crashed. Our client was unhappy that after two weeks the hard drive failed, and wanted a whole new machine, cos he thought if the machine had already had that problem it would continue to give problems. So go for a new machine replacement, and be happy about Macs again!

Send CoRE a link to this thread and also maybe post to this thread:
http://mybroadband.co.za/news/Hardware/2519.html
about CORE not wanting to help you with the smell issue, which BTW
is a known issue and Apple proper have replaced customers' machines.

The thread above is good because it appears in Google in Position 3,
http://www.google.co.za/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=apple+mac+pro&btnG=Search&meta=cr=countryZA
for Google search "Apple mac pro" for SA sites.

Hopefully Core will want to avoid bad publicity.
