Would I be wasting my R1000 bucks for 4GB memory for my MBP?

I use Parallels and my machine is getting slower and slower, is the Ram going to make that much difference?

If your model supports it (mine doesnt btw) then no - you wouldnt be wasting your money by upgrading to 4gb of ram.

Which MBP do you have? I thought they would all support 2 x 2GB modules?
I have an older 2.33ghz - it recognises 4gb but the most it utilises is 3gb.

IMO all macbooks should come standard with 4GB RAM.. if it supports it, go for it!

But you could probably get it for around R800

Check to see what RAM you need with Mactracker.
You can get a quote from these guy's in Stellenbosch, Active Systems 021 8871822.
Their prices are reasonable.

You can basically buy any 2gb DDR2 Sodimm modules. PC International charges like R650 for 4gb. (including VAT)

All sorted installed and working like a dream, got some transcend from Rectron :D machine shows the 4GB installed and working!

Thanks for all the input guys!

The entire system is valued at over R25000 with the games and all

that the full spec and price is estimate...

Assuming all those games are originals, you're being taken for a ride. You can get a new MBP for that kinda money.

ok let say 50% are original and I dont have the cash ?
unless one of you wanna buy it?

maybe exclude the 3k?
