Macbook Pro connect to TV

I can not believe when I connect my Macbook Pro to my TV using the mini connector for the HDMI port I can not get sound to transfer as well. It is amazing Macbooks never came with a HDMI port to start with.

where did you buy the cable?

Only the new MBP (2010 onwards) with the new HDMI connector allows sound over HDMI.

Here is my contrib (towards 20)... So the minidisplay port to DVI (with DVI to HDMI will not push Audio to TV). Not sure if there is a minidisplay to HDMI available from Apple
