Macbook Pro Retina 13" screen discolouration

Has anyone else using this machine noticed a discolouration , almost like the glossy finish is peeling off at the top and edges of the screen? This is not the sort of thing I expected from Apple and is it true it only has a 12 month manufacturers warranty?

I took mine to my local iStore here in PE.
