Hey guys,

I have a 2015 13" Retina. When it's plugged in and in use the light on the MagSafe does the correct thing. Orange if charging and green if full. But it the Macbook is asleep or hibernating the light alternates between green and orange every 30 seconds or so. (It's done this since I've had it +- 6 months now).

At first I didn't pay much attention to this but today all of a sudden the service battery notification is showing and coconut battery says my max capacity is now 60%. This seems ridiculous as a week or two ago it was well over 80%. Can't believe it could drop that quickly. Have reset the SMC to no avail.

Anyone have any thoughts etc?

Thanks...

I presume you got this machine second hand, can you remember what the battery cycle count was when you got it vs now? Check the official number under "About this Mac", not using a third party app.
Have you tried a different charger at some point?
My guess and I'm by no means a Mac expert, your charger is dodgy and this made your battery run cycles all the time so it's fuber.

Google how to replace the battery, buy the iFixit kit and DIY, or ask weFix for a quote, I'm not even sure if they'll do it on this model.

Yup. Got it secondhand. Charge cycle was low 300’s and now just over 420 or so.

Will check with a different charger and see what it does. Just weird that it charges properly when in use and not while asleep.

Will investigate prices as well :(
