macOS Sonoma

I keep reading Sangoma, so I'm calling it that, other than that all good, new Teams also running better. Also I find my kubectl commands is much faster as well.

Very bland release, nothing really innovative or worth writing home about.

Haven't noticed anything new since updating on my M2 Pro. Could have just been another minor release.

interesting bug i came across on sonoma. it looks like something's wrong with the timezones logic. if i try get the timezone name in a browser, the only one that gives the correct name (africa/johannesburg) is safari. tried on firefox, edge, and chrome, but they don't get the right value.

SO, what's the verdict? How does it compare to previous .0 releases in terms of stability and bugs?

I'll stand by my earlier comment - it's definitely better than 13.0 but I'm still seeing some oddities here and there, had the UI locking up and also had some issue with Notes. Other than that it's been fine for me

I probably won't downgrade but I should have waited for the dot. Too quirky for my liking. Adding appointments to gCal via Safari is a nightmare and for some reason my Apple Watch is apparently never close enough to unlock my laptop despite being attached to the hand that is actually lifting the lid.

Basically, should have listened to my gut. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I keep misreading this thread title as MacOS Sangoma.
You're not the only one. :)

Very strange…IIRC you also have the M1 Air? For me, it is the opposite - Ventura was generally not very keen to unlock with my Watch, but it actually works most of the time in Sonoma.

The only gripe I have with Sonoma is that it struggles to eject my external hard drive (keeps saying it is in use by Finder), that is very Windows like (which I hated, and one of the reasons I was so happy to have switched over to MacOS)…never had this issue with any previous version since I got my laptop which had Big Sur installed out of the box.

That's correct. I can't fathom why I'm suddenly having problems with this now.

I've reconsidered and will probably downgrade later today. I did a SuperDuper backup to a SSD prior to the upgrade so it will be quick and painless. So far there's been no compelling reason not to revert to Ventura.
