Anyone running it already? I installed the latest beta this morning (on my personal device). Seems really nice so far, I see a lot of complaints about stage manager but I think I might just end up using it, the way the apps fit behind the window feels very snug and the animations are smooth and on point:

PSA: I was very interested in the the new spotlight features, and just so you know, it now searches your photos as well, so you might be better off adding some photos to the 'hidden' album, before running those searches xD

On that note, the spotlight search seems much better now, you can now also run shortcuts directly from it:

Been running it since day one with very little issue on my test device and started using it as a daily driver since last week.

Keep forgetting Stage Manager exists to be honest but must try make an effort.

The thing taking over your phone for a webcam is my most annoying feature by far because it just does it automatically when you don’t want it and you don’t realise and then when you do want to force it there’s no way to get it to engage that I’ve found.

Interesting mention of the Hidden folder, I noticed this is protected by FaceID/TouchID on the iPad and iPhone along with recently deleted so I would imagine that’s the same on MacOS but need to actually go check.

I really dislike System Preferences now, it seems like a step backwards and change for the sake of change. Very hard to navigate.

Ah, I see. You're on the iOS beta as well then? Can't you just turn it off?

iPhone Settings app > General > AirPlay & Handoff > Continuity Camera Webcam

Yeah you can but I do actually want to test it so it’s bizarre to me there is no prompt to say yes let’s do it (or a toggle for that) and then no way to trigger it manually.

Also could not a **** figure out how you must use the overhead thing.

I much prefer the new System Settings, the old preferences was a screen with some icons - many settings hidden behind them. I don't think I've ever actually found what I was looking for by clicking on the icons, I generally just defaulted to using the search.

They still have to improve it a bit though, but I like the direction.

This is the opposite for me, I'm searching for everything now because nothing is in a logical place where I expect it.

Just looking for the Update window now I couldn't find it directly and had to search for it.

No, I'll upgrade 3 months after launch. The first and last beta version of OS X / macOS was Mavericks. It shall remain that way.

Yup I do remember going to 12.0 and it was a mess :X3:

Luckily now I have a second device that I can play around with, my work device will remain on Monterey until 13.1 is out or so.

I'm going to dig out my Macbook Air M1 and give it a try. Been wanting to do a full factory reset so will play around a bit with a clean update.

Anyone got the update notification yet?

Edit if one reads the article (which I did after this post was posted), 7 pm is when to expect it :D
