I must say, I hate all of you. 3 weeks ago if I saw a spider I would run like a girl screaming blue murder.

Got home earlier and opened the curtains and found this on my sliding door.. on the inside. Instead of running away, I ran straight for my wifes camera, When I called her to look, she was the one running away.
I dont think I have ever been so close up to a spider..

OH and WTF is it.. LOL the thing is huge! (assuming a rain spider?)

Images are completely unedited and have just been uploaded direct from the camera.

Definitely a rain spider. Just use a feather duster to shoo it out ( it rolls up into a very compact ball in spite of the size ;))

You need to train Claire a bit better :D

Wish I had the extension tubes! My father-in-law said I could come borrow his.

Though I have the creeps all over now. My cat brushed past my leg and I nearly wet myself!. I will try find a very long feather duster and hope it stays around so I can take more photo's later.. just dont want it IN my bedroom.

Oh and I am also assuming that those teeth can give a painful bite

EDIT: Use a feather duster, but it wouldn't roll into a ball, So I "shoo'ed" it to the outside of the sliding door. Creepy bugger just ran all the way around the door and back behind the other side to its original location

Although the working distance the the DOF are a little extreme you should really play around with lens reversal. I've been having some great results with my 70-200 as primary and the 18-55 reversed stacked on that.

Its been years since I last saw one of these. Normally I just gently pick it up and put it outside. Apparently they don't like the rain, so come inside. Hence their name.
Glad you ran for your camera. Thanks for sharing these pictures.

 Dude.. I hate spiders, LOL anything thats bigger than my shoe can squash is HUGE!. Across the legs she was about 150mm, Still a baby in terms of rains spiders I have read, but bigger than I would like in my bedroom.

BTW, BigAl-sa, what is that one you have there?

Been playing around with Macro tonight and have some shots that I like (despite them not being particularly well done), thought I'd share :)

The stamen you can see these little buggers on is less than 1/2mm in size.

Gotta work on the focusing and finding a way to get a bigger area of focus but will practice.
