Looks like iLife is getting a revamp - face detection in iPhoto look pretty cool. iMovie and Garage Band also revamped.

iWorks too - looks like we'll be able to control keynote presentations from the iPhone

17" MBP got a revamp :) "Three USB, FireWire 800, the new glass trackpad, 2.93 Core 2 Duo processors, up to 8GB of memory at 1GHz DDR3, and the dual integrated/discrete GeFore 9400M and 9600M GT. Standard 320GB drive, up to 256GB SSD."

Anti-glare for an additional $50 :o

Non-removable battery - they claim it is bigger, better and longer living but I dunno . . . .

iTunes - DRM free by the end of the quarter and tiered pricing starting in April - 69¢, 99¢ and $1.29

Very worrying trend,. It was very unpopular with the iPod, but they do it again. This is typical Jobs.

I'm in love (though max HDD is still 320GB). A mere $1200 for the full 8GB! Ouch.

If the 1000+ battery cycle claims are even 3/4 accurate its not all that bad. Bigger battery and a 7+ hour battery life is also impressive.

The battery is only guaranteed for 1 yr, so there's no taking it back. I still think they are wrong to sacrifice replaceability for longer life. Is it even possible to open the thing up and replace it as part of a tech service I wonder?

As they said in the keynote, they will offer a service to replace it.

Lol, was at work watching the feed from macbookrumours.com and just like Obama's twitter account the other day the feed was hacked and they started posting some pretty rough stuff. I had a crazy sense of humour so I found it really funny, some might get offended. Here is some pics of the feed if any one is interested.

..a relatively dull Macworld this time around..!
Hardly unexpected and with Apple pulling out altogether next years will seem even duller - except probably to the participants.

I'm really excited about DRM free iTunes, no more having to burn and re-rip to MP3 :)

I know it probably should, but apart from 'the principle', their DRM has never bothered me.

To the average South African iTunes music isn't an issue anyway considering the lengths you have to go through to get it.

I wonder if we can trust that 7+ hours? I'm very skeptical, even with seperate gfx but the drive is still 7200RPM and it's a 2.93 Core 2 Duo not a ULV model CPU. Unless Apple managed to suspend to laws of chemistry and physics.....

It was a MAJOR issue for me, I could not listen to them on Linux or have Windows Media Player recognize it, also copying it to a non-ipod portable was another issue.

I also wondered but a much bigger battery and better technology is bound to lead to some improvement.

I havent noticed much of an increase in battery consumption since I upgraded my 5400rpm drive to a 7200.

Apple's Battery life claims are usually on the money. It was already 5 hours, now they have a larger battery with better technology. So I believe them. The 45nm Core 2 Duo's are very efficient...
