Trying to set up a magic trackpad with my older mbp
it is running snow leopard (10.6.9)
it is paired under bluetooth preferences, however, when i enter system preferences > trackpad > set up bluetooth trackpad, i am faced with this:

despite the "no trackpad found" error, the cursor works fine (moving about), but i am trying to enable click to select (tap on the trackpad) as opposed to physically pressing the left / right corner of the trackpad which in turn pushes the buttons within it's feet.
what am i doing wrong here ?
