This has been going on for most of the lockdown period, and no reply from Rain. Biggest bull******* on the market. Non-existent support. Happy to deduct R999p/m and provide you with 0.62Mbps.

No and then, you might get and whopping 30Mbps for about 2 minutes, get happy and then BOOM, back to dial up type speeds, and yes my router is mounted outside, I have tried every single degree of pointing it, nothing seems to make it better

Can anyone tell me if my signal stats (above) are good or bad?
Your signal is good.
Mine

Network Type: NSA
Signal Intensity: LTE (-85 dBm)NR (-76 dBm)
Signal Quality: LTE (10 dB)NR (12 dB)
PLMN:

Not even getting 10mb down

Buffering with Netflix and Youtube is now too much and no longer worth it.

Unfortunately here in “PTA North”, there is no fibre in my area and adsl is stuck at 10mb. So I had to go the WISP route. Crap expensive. And only 20mbps. But it’s stable and atleet 10mb uploads which I use for work. But yes , lot more expensive

I am experiencing a dejavu moment...4G was great in the beginning then got so crap and worthless. Dejavu 1 - Crappy customer service as always
Dejavu 2 - "5G will never have the problems we experienced as with 4G" - Mmm well well
Dejavu 3 - RAIN CEO lying to mybb and us... - is there an echo in here in here in here...
The only benefit RAIN/5G has at this moment is that Vodacom still doesn't want to get with the times and give people month to month like they want. If they do, Vodacom will be a force to reckon with and I don't even like them...

If you have the option of fibre rather go that route (and ensure you use the correct FNO and ISP), the connection is exactly what I pay for and I get my 100Mbps/50Mbps no matter what time of the day it is.

I had no option but to use a WISP before fibre arrived and the signal would drop for a multitude of reasons including : other wireless signals in the area, wind blowing trees into the line of sight, rain, cable issues and lightning strikes to my device.

Centurion Rooihuiskraal North still issues. upload is next to nothing and download jumps up and down allot. most of the times unusable. Support and billing is non existing

Also Centurion. Full signal and zero throughput. I managed to get someone 2 weeks ago and they sorted me out. Lasted a week and back to crap.
You are lucky you found someone to help. I have been logging tickets since Feb with no resolution

I have the exact same issues. Router is mounted on the the roof and I am getting excellent tower reception. But the bandwidth is non existing. Paying R999 p/m and for what? We must be able to keep this company liable legally in some way? Breaking contract? Misrepresented cliams of service?
Are we having these issues due to the fact that they are selling spectrum to Vodacom? Apparently Vodacom's 5G is impressive. Just like Rain was in a previous article.
Is Rain focusing on landing the Vodacom deal and letting its paying customers that are contracted in to rott?

I wonder which PTA North Roos was talking about as there's still no internet?

Hi, Rain is still down in Brixton, Mayfair West area, problems since yesterday, 19 May around 1 pm. As much as Rain say they sorting the problem out, how about creating a noticeboard on their website stating they have a problem, also they know everyone's router address and and should know which of their customers are affected, how about sending a SMS or email ? Their customer complaints response really suck, it is under their control how they maintain relationship with their customers, they have weak diagnostic tools to help customers fault find or improve service. Go look at Axxess's website for customer communication, it might be worth Rain management go give Axxess a visit on how they manage customer service !

Having major issues now. I am in Rietfontein, Pretoria.
