Make fast lane changes? You're causing traffic congestion!

It's your impatience that causes congestion.
I understand those oppressive BMW drivers want you to go faster but don't hog the passing lane and blame it on safety.

That argument is weak.

It would work if everyone followed the rules, but of course, few people would.

That's not even my biggest irritation with the statement.

Purposely slowing down other people is as it quite frankly endangers everyone and holds you in proximity to the aggressor.

Just let them go.

And purposely tailgating others because you want to be permitted to break the law even if it comes at the cost of other's safety is ... what ... admirable?

I didn't defend that.

Simply stated the original statement of how to use the highway was wrong.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

You are supporting illegal behaviour against illegal behaviour which doesn't help anyone and also cocks traffic up even more.

It also endangers more people that the initial offence.

Speeding is a minor offence. Blocking someone is wreckless endangerment. Think about that, let it sink in.

I'm not advocating deliberately blocking anybody. I explained that I let speedsters go on their merry way under two conditions. That's unless you can give me a reason why a speedster's convenience is more important than my safety?

You jumped to someone else's defense. I didn't challenge your statement.

It's infinitely safer to just let them go on their merry way instead of aggrevating them while remaining within their proximity.

I'm white knighting??? I suggest you read posts before throwing that around. DA LION is the last person I'd try defend on here, and if you'd missed it we were halfway through a fun disagreement when you chipped in.

The problem with immediately jumping into the slow lane to satisfy all impatient tailgaters is that there are too many of "them". I make allowances for them but I don't bow to them and put myself at risk by doing so.

Like I said, you chose to engage me.

I didn't make any statement towards you so the fact that you wanted to throw me in with DA LION's discussion is all on you.

Why do you need to jump into the slow lane? You should already be there and stay there if you don't want to commit the ungodly act of going a little but too fast.

Problem solved. It's really that simple.

You only make it difficult for yourself. And seemingly everyone else on the road and in doing so you are only putting yourself in danger.

Stop blaming them. You endanger yourself.

This is a very South African mentality as well.

In Europe and America the overtaking lane stays wife open. Nobody cruises in it.

That's because the left lane moves, not like here where it's blocked by overloaded trucks and unroadworthy vehicles, oh wait in SA they also like the overtaking lane.

Quite the contrary.

Often I find the left lane in a three or four lane highway wide open because people just don't know how to use the road.
