We can all do our part. Not every single car in the road needs to apply this driving behavior. If the guy in front of you is tailgating and you can see the stop n go pattern, create a buffer between you and that car by driving at a slower constant speed. It's actually quite amazing and soon you'll see all the traffic behind you flowing.
Sounds funny, but I feel really good doing this because I know that even though the people behind me don't realise it, I'm making their commute just that little bit better.
Yes, taxis and the odd fool will cut in front of you but just let it happen and they soon move back into the next lane.
I absolutely HATE traffic, but this little practice has actually made me a calmer person in traffic.
So if everyone here could be that buffer that controls the traffic behind you then collectively we are making the roads a little safer.
