You'll have to tell me, you seem far more qualified at stereotyping people. And if that was meant as an insult I can tell you that you failed miserably. I see it as a compliment that you feel that although I am white I have embraced the African way of life. Thanks.

Now why did you go personally attack him, he was just indicating he felt very strongly about what was said and feels the same way. You insulted and tried to belittle him, which will turn into an insult match.... pity

Ha ha ha oh my goodness. It is quite apparent that both Marine and I took the comment in good spirits. Some people are just sooooo sensitive it seems. If that is the worst insult you have come across on this forum you have clearly been hiding out in the "announcements" section since your arrival in Nov 2009!

The incident had clearly been resolved already with him commenting and me laughing at his response. It is your feeling the need to stick your nose in that will result in it being prolonged! The sense of some people.... :rolleyes:

But thank you for educating me in the meaning of his post. I will make a recommendation that the mods create a sticky quantifying the degree of agreement with a post :

+1 partly agree
+10 mildly agree
+100 agree
+1000 fully agree
+10000 wholeheartedly agree

+1000000 damn I wish I had the intelligence to say that myself (well actually this could apply to all +X comments!)

Mate stop being a d***. I'm sorry i went to make coffee and didn't realise he took it in jest. I thought it may turn into something off track (as often happens) and then the honest debate will end.

Now you start talking about my arrival time and sticking my nose where i do believe it belongs. I thought this thread was about Malema being warned and that lead to you saying something about how you would also be scared if you believed everything on the forum, to which someone else and myself asked how we should feel about things like the song being sung and never received a response.

Stop getting derailed by comments like coconut and such, we were talking and i was hoping to see another side of the story.

Okay, I also want to know how i should feel when someone says :"kill the boer, kill the farmer", I'm i getting worked up about nothing? After all i am not a farmer, but who is going to ask me, how will i prove it... hold on i don't think it's right to kill farmers either.

I can't take everyone's words as gospel but then again he is the head of ANCYL. These songs get people emotionally worked up, yes i was nervous when Zuma sang about his machine gun...... was he planning on dealing with problems like this?

Should i rather just ignore the mutterings of our leaders and continue with my life?

Ha ha ok, that is impressive debating skills you are showing there. So I must partake in honest debating while those on your side of the fence can resort to name calling? Are we trying to suppress the minority here? Funny that it is exactly this that so many of you are opposed to in the real world. How about lecturing those that resort to adding nothing by saying +1000. Would you be satisfied if I merely responded to you by saying -10000? Same difference really!

How people feel about the song has pretty much been covered in about 50 threads on this forum, I therefore felt no need to rehash it again. As pointed out by you this thread is about Malema being warned. It was exactly this topic that all my posts were referring to when someone decided to raise the issue of "how should we feel about the song". Why should I comment on your feelings when I'd rather be commenting on the ANC censuring Malema (the thread topic!).

I have quite clearly stated before that I am opposed to racism on both sides of the fence! How do you think a black person feels when a white person waves the old South African flag? It probably elicits the same feeling from them as your response to the song. The song may be indirectly translated to mean kill all white people but to the black person the waving of the flag shows a desire to go back to the days of apartheid. Those that sing old struggle songs that are threatening are idiots. Those that wave and exhibit old symbols of apartheid are idiots!
 
Resorting to name calling on either side is uncalled for, I was trying to have a conversation and would have told either party to "chill" when it was directly at someone. You re often on the defensive here, being attacked from so many angles it's hard to cope by yourself, but try realise i wasn't attacking you, try to ignore the slander, I know it's hard... i the long run i like to think people will respect you for it and the other person will look like an idiot.

+1 to me, meant something completely different to -1 and my internet lingo seems to be off the mark. +1 is followed by a statement or question of some sort which is normally backed with some sort of fact or opinion. -1 would mean you disagree but we have no idea why or how you see things from your side, while the other has "hopefully" explained theirs.

Back to the subject at hand: I'm sorry if i haven't read all 50 threads and maybe my questions do not count then, but it seems to still be an unresolved issue. When someone threatens my existence i want a bit more than "i chatted to him and said bad boy" but i am glad something was done about it and it's a step in the right direction. It's nice to see our president stand up and say enough....... unfortunately not many believe him ):

Oddly enough, while similar, i don't think the flag is the exact same... they want in independent state, but I wouldn't wave the flag because the natural assumption would be its the flag of apartheid and I want to oppress, things have meanings and are used intentionally. I'm glad to see we agree on that both are baaaaaad and not constructive, but while i can understand some wanting more to be done and see it as a death threat, you appear to think it was enough? Then again we don't really know what happened and i'm not sure Zuma could even remove him of his position.

It'll be interesting to see what Julius does next, and it could well be lipservice but it's good that the ANC are clamping down on him, his comments have been disgraceful esp the last few months andd I can understand why a lot o the whites are all feeling uneasy about the future.

Actually kind of nice to know people in other countries are interested in our little problem.

I think the ANC are saying that they condemn Malema to the public eye but in the background they are back slapping and congratulating him on doing what they themselves would love to say and do. Zuma is in power largely because of Malema's YL support, he will speak up in public but he is not going to reprimand a buddy in private. Politics in SA is a lot more brutal then you would think.

so I should be worried then?, because the idiot(s) sing a song that says: "Kill the boer, kill the farmer"?
