Man killed by pitbulls

But this includes dropping off and picking up the kids from school. Eldest in a Hostel only fetch her on Fridays and drop her off Monday mornings, when I leave home at 5am.
The evenings and the weekends make it ALL WORTH IT!

If you have a Disel car, let me know. Will tell you where the cheapest Diesel is to be had in SA. I have not seen cheaper yet :) Currently R 12.76 a liter.

Shyte might be more now, since yesterday's increase. Haven't filled up yet. Will over the weekend.

The main point being "un-socialized dog is a dangerous dog", at least we are in agreement.

Everyone seems to be against Pitbulls as a breed, I think that's bull****e as I am willing to bet that more people have been harmed by their German Shepards and their neglected *insert breed*

Im not sure who mentioned something about a dogs personality or living with their personalities, but dog do have them. An owner needs to nurture the best traits in their dog so that the dog will know that what to do in certain situations.

Any good places to get gas though, other than the spot in Skeerpoort?

You travel the R 560 Magalies road to Joburg? At that T junction where you exit from Kosmos, turn right there is a big Engine Garage at that 4 way stop. Alternatively, over the Cement bridge
turn towards Lanseria there is a filling station at Pecan Wood.

Again, is it not he owner's fault. Its not cool to shrug off the blame to a pet you own and kill it. You are as the owner would be well aware of the inherited traits of your *insert breed* and should have trained your dog accordingly.

Stop blaming the dog, it is defeats logic and exempts an owner from taking the rightful responsibility.

I've always found it dumb when people are triggered by animal cruelty yet tonight they enjoying a nice steak.

DURBAN - A metro police officer whose pit bulls mauled his mother-in-law to death at his Greenwood Park home this week has handed the animals to the SPCA to be euthanised.

Tanya Fleischer, spokeswoman for the animal welfare organisation, confirmed this on Friday.

According to Senior Superintendent Parboo Sewpersad, the metro police spokesperson, Superintendent Ricardo Gaddridge and his wife and children had all been deeply traumatised by the tragic incident.

“We are offering him all the support we can through our wellness department,” said Sewpersad.

How is it then that I have yet to read of a Farm Attack news report where Pitbulls ( any other breed ) have cornered and killed a farm attacker / attackers
IF
These are such good guard / attack dogs WHY are they not being used where they can justify their existence ?

Perhaps I missed such a report ?
Please can someone provide a link ........

A normal police report would not include such (farm attacks have no special reporting standards), I wonder if anyone else is doing proper research on farm attack stats...

How often do we hear about farm attacks that have been foiled in some fashion?

Maybe that's why. Bad news sells, not could-have been bad news.

I would rather hope that SOMEONE is keeping a record of these events
Clearly
When farm attacks have been foiled OTHER farmers need to know -- HOW and WHY
So that WORKING methods of foiling attacks can be incorporated into the -- "Security Handbook"
