Hi all

Is there currently a managed antivirus product which can run on a Linux server, and with which you can manage Windows clients?

If there's no such product, then I'll rather run a virtual windows server on said Linux server and use it to manage the clients with.

Regards

on which linux server version do you want to run the antivirus and is the server just a samba server or you will be running other services like vpn or postfix mail ?

Symantec Endpoint Protection 11 and above in a managed solution (running on Windows Sever) can manage Windows & Linux clients (serve definition & application updates to both OS's).

I'm not sure if the server console can run on Linux and serve Windows clients. (haven't tried it)

@The_Librarian: McAfee EPO server can run on a Linux server, it can centrally manage Windows, Linux and Mac clients.

We have decided to have a virtual Win2kx server on the Linux box, which will run SEP.

Thanks to all for the input :)
