So I'm going to be rolling out a network in the next couple of months and it's been a good long while since I've looked at managed solutions for AV/firewall/etc. Any reccomendations?

Must-haves:

1) Central Management from 1 server
2) Updates from central server rather than internet (1 download, many clients)
3) Customisable firewall rules

Nice-to-have:

Support for as many platforms as possible as well as mobile (WM and/or Symbian)

So erm... if anyone can answer this heinous question, you guys can! :D

http://www.trendmicro.com has most of the features that you require. I use it as it has all 3 must-haves that you mentioned :] I run the server at home which is shared and open to www.wug.za.net so anyone on that network can get updates locally thus saving your precious cap :]

Thanks. Trend doesn't look too bad - do they have one suite that covers pretty much everything or is it a case of running a chunk of separate things?

The one suite runs everything. When you deploy to a client or manually install from the client the server(suite) pushes down all your settings, such as the firewall etc...

We use Trend at work, which forces people to use other AV's to remove worms and the like. Not very good i.t.o. virus detection. Might be our updates that don't get through very often.

At home we havnt had a single work or the likes thereof get through since we got rid of the other AV's and started using trend. Just update regularly and make sure to upgrade the rootkit, anti spyware and firewall engines too.
