Mango went RTM

So Windows Phone 'Mango' officially went RTM yesturday. This is great news, now the wait starts for the SA Networks to release the update to us. I doubt that we will get the update in SA before the end of the year!

On the bright side, we did get the NoDo update before alot of other countries. This is probably due to our SP's not actually being real partners so they probably don't get the choice to test or hold up the updates even if they wanted to...Hope that doesn't change for this one!

Got the new Mango beta on my phone last night!
It's really really awesome. The only thing I have noticed is a few stutters now and then, but it is beta :P

So you decided to get it. Its quite nice hey. The twitter integration works well. I've really been enjoying the mango beta. It also seems like more apps are appearing in the SA marketplace every day. I think the devs have to change the regions that the apps are available in.

I did - legit way tho :P
Yeah presumably each app that is here is there because they did an update and at the same time it added us to the list.

I also love the little animation tweaks that they have made everywhere - and how it feels faster.
Most of all tho, the messaging is amazing. I love having facebook, live, and sms all in one place and being able to switch the send method so easily.

After I got the beta I got my dreamspark account and got a dev account, so it turns out I could have done it the legit way too. Oh well.

Ja, I'm still playing around to see what else is new. I'm also quite keen to see the new apps that use the new api's. There's a BBC news app that I saw that makes uses of some of the features, you can download the xap and check it out here.

I got some update today on my HTC Mozart, will link the version number when its done.

It could be a firmware update. I read that there were some firmware updates coming out.

It's so infuriating - why is Apple the only one to do updates right, not via carriers! I guess it's inevitable when you have a multi-phone, multi-carrier system, but the software updates always get held up.

Wow, saw an "update available" notification on my phone. I almost thought I got Mango, but instead it was an HTC firmware update.

I also got an update available notification and excitedly downloaded only to find out 280mb later that it was just a security update :(

Was running the first and second betas but finally got the RTM two nights ago, loving it! No big change compared to Beta 2 but it's to be expected.

According to MS-South Africa, we will have it sometime in September.

Based on how long it's taken me to be able to buy Windows Home Server 2011, I wouldn't count on it. It took four months from international release for it to get here... and I still don't actually have it. I've just ordered it.

I wonder how long it will take for us to see Nokia phones here. I'm due for an upgrade at the end of the year...
